Tuawera is a thoughtfully crafted new build designed to feel deeply personal from the moment you step inside. Rather than creating a home that could belong to anyone, the homeowners set out to build a space rich in character, connection and individuality. A home that reflected their family, their values and the way they live.

Podocarp Cabinetry was proud to partner with the project team to deliver bespoke cabinetry and architectural joinery throughout the home, creating pieces that feel intrinsically connected to both the architecture and the people who live within it.

From the outset, the joinery was designed to provide more than functionality alone. Each piece needed to contribute to the home's sense of warmth, personality and permanence while standing up to the demands of modern family life.

Our scope included three custom Oak bathroom vanities, living room display cabinetry,  and a day bed perfectly located to soak up spectacular views. The striking Oak  shelving that also houses the clients proud vinyl collection and record player has become one of the home's defining features.

The custom bookcase was designed as both a practical storage solution and a visual centrepiece, creating a space to display books, artwork and treasured objects collected over time. The Oak, stained to express a rich, sophisticated tone, while remaining timeless and inviting.

Throughout the home, natural materials and thoughtful detailing create a calm and cohesive atmosphere.

The bespoke bathroom vanities combine warm timber tones with refined detailing, balancing durability with elegance. Every component was carefully considered to ensure the cabinetry complemented the wider interior palette while providing practical solutions for everyday use.

As with all of our projects, attention was paid not only to how the joinery looked, but how it would perform for years to come. Precision craftsmanship, quality materials and thoughtful design ensure each element feels effortless within the space.
