Frequently asked questions.

Do you only work with solid timber and timber veneers? While solid timber and timber veneers are at the heart of what we do as cabinet maker Christchurch, we’re not limited to them. Every project is different, and we select materials to suit both the design intent and how the space will be used.

For areas where it makes sense, we may incorporate materials like melamine for internal cabinetry components to keep things practical and cost-effective, without compromising on the overall finish. We’ll guide you through the options to ensure the result feels considered, cohesive, and built to last.

Do you only make feature elements for kitchens such as wooden bench tops? Not at all. We design and craft complete kitchens, from initial concept through to installation, whether it’s a renovation or a new build.

From cabinetry and bench tops to islands, sculleries, bespoke tables, booth seating, and coffee stations—we take care of the full picture. You’re welcome to bring your own plans, or we can work alongside you (and our designer) to create something truly tailored to your home. Our Kitchen & ancillary space page will tell you more.

If we want a stone or a stainless steel bench top in our kitchen, do we need to organise our own supplier? No need. We manage that process for you as part of our service. We work with trusted local suppliers for both stone and stainless steel, ensuring everything integrates seamlessly with your cabinetry and overall design.

Do you provide design drawings?Yes. We collaborate with an experienced designer to produce detailed, customised drawings that bring your ideas to life.

If you’re starting from scratch, we also offer full home cabinetry design packages; guiding you from initial concepts right through to the finer details.

Do you only do interior cabinetry and joinery? No, as cabinet maker christchurch, we also craft exterior timber joinery to the same exacting standard. This includes front doors, bi-fold and French doors, and a range of window styles, including traditional sash windows. Whether inside or out, our focus is always on quality materials, thoughtful detailing, and a finish that stands the test of time.

Please see our new timber joinery page for more information.

If you make our new cedar window sashes, do we need to organise glazing separately? No, we take care of that for you. We supply and install glazing options to suit your needs, including double glazing, Low-E glass with argon gas, toughened glass, and obscured finishes.

We have original timber windows in our villa. Can they be double glazed, or do they need replacing? In many cases, we can retrofit double glazing into your existing timber windows, helping you improve comfort and efficiency while retaining the character of your home.

Where needed, we can carry out repairs to window sashes, improve weather sealing, and advise on ongoing care. If any elements are beyond repair, we’ll talk you through the best replacement options while keeping the look and feel consistent.

For more information please visit our retro-fit double glazing page.

We’re building a new home — can you handle all the joinery?Absolutely. We regularly deliver full joinery and cabinetry packages for new builds and renovations. We are not only cabinet maker christchurch, we craft for Christchurch and beyond.

From external windows and doors through to kitchens, laundries, wardrobes, offices, bathroom vanities, and any bespoke interior features.

As a small, family-run business, we pride ourselves on being approachable, detail-focused, and easy to work with. Getting us involved early means we can collaborate closely with you, your architect, builder, and designer to achieve the best possible result.
